told a friend the wall clock atop my door is now stopped as i permanently removed its battery over the weekend.

i said i'm done standing on chairs just to replace the battery of said wall clock up high.
(uhm...  i actually was the one who drilled the wall to hang that clock years back. 🤦‍♀️)

he said it's ok as the clock would still be accurate twice a day.

huh?!

wahahaha...  what a batting average! 🤣

12:09 a.m. friend tells me he's going to have dinner...

me:  "that dinner's too late...  that's breakfast already...  too early breakfast..."

regardless of whether it's breakfast or dinner, it will get him full.  that is what matters.  a label won't alter that.

last tuesday, i got so fed up cleaning after a neighbor and posted a 2018 video of the stinky overflow from their drainage.

good thing videos don't capture odors.  the smell is disgusting  ->  the kind that makes you want to puke.

the drainage was not there before.  but then the neighbor's sink kept on getting clogged and in spite of repeated fixes the problem kept on recurring so the 'solution' they applied was to have this drainage, right beside their house, outside their property, right on the alley where other residents pass.

their kitchen waste flows there including rice, leftovers and oil.  you can even determine what meal they had based on the bits and pieces that float from the drainage.

thursday i posted a more recent clip, taken just the day before.

guess what, today, sunday, the neighbor had someone come over to have the drainage fixed*! the hole in the wall was cemented.  the drainage was cleaned.  the broken cover was remedied.
W...  O...  W...  wow!
i've raised it to them so many times before!  all were for naught.  i post two videos and they act on it within a week!  i could have avoided wasting my time by just posting a video right away! 🤦‍♀️

you really have to talk to people in a language that they understand.  it's unfortunate that for these people, that language is to see their irresponsible ways exposed in social media.

*  i dunno whether it will turn out to be a real fix.  it's the stuff the neighbor throws that clogs the drain and causes the stinky overflow.  they can have the cover fixed but if they do not fix their ways the problem would recur.  we'll see.

beef, pizza and discounts

i was supposed to order beef pepper rice from pepper lunch through foodpanda.  but then i saw that sbarro has buy one-take one pizza.

suddenly i was torn.

i like sbarro's white pizza.
i love discounts.
i was craving beef pepper rice.

hmmm...  hmmm...  hmmm...

beef pepper rice will always be there.
sbarro's buy one-take one could be short-lived.
okay, sbarro be it.

i ordered white pizza plus carnivore for contrast.
i divided each pizza in two and put halves of each variant in the boxes.
i walked over to my parents' place and gave them one box.
guess what, they had beefsteak!  not quite the same as beef pepper rice but similar.

yes!  we could have it all 😊

friend and i talked about peanut butter.  following day he tells me he dreamt about me  -->  eating his peanut butter!

me:  'haha...  is that true???'

friend says no.  he said he has finished his peanut butter so there was no more for me in the dream.

wahaha...  anything is possible in dreams!  he didn't even dream of enough peanut butter to share?

i was supposed to order from pepper lunch with a voucher through foodpanda but did not proceed with payment because i wanted to change my payment method.

when i tried to reorder, the voucher would not work anymore.

i raised it to Help Center and the agent reinstated the voucher.

so proceed ordering i did and guess what, delivery fee changed from the P44 in my first order attempt to P39 in my final order.

the delay was not for naught 😊

an ounce of prevention

 i woke up this morning and saw a spider crawling on my ceiling.  i know how this goes.  countless times i was removing spider webs from the ceiling of my previous place.  not enjoyable.

i therefore went the extra mile (the extra height, haha) to remove the spider.  E...  F...  F...  O...  R... T!

there are these stains on my wall that i've long been wanting to remove.  i've tried soap and water but they just remained there.

today, i tried alcohol.  ta-daaannn!!! the stains were erased!  i was sooo happy!!!  uhm, until i saw the wall from a distance.  the part i rubbed with alcohol became so noticeably lighter than the rest of the wall.  argh!

sometimes you have to step back to see the mess you've made.

every now and then things slip through my headboard.  i have a hard time reaching for the objects under the bed so i decided to order a claw.  the thing is, it arrived broken.  (it was shipped from china to the philippines.  yes, i did get a refund.)

i eventually just made a hook out of a broken hanger.  (i like to repurpose stuff.)  i hang it on my headboard so if something slips through, i'll just reach for it with the hook.

well, guess what.  my DIY reacher was the one that fell off the headboard!
