guy: 'i'll do it for you...'
me: 'i've seen how you do it...'
guy: 'you have?'
me: 'yes... i was there one time...'
guy: 'how come no one told me?'
me: 'that was so long ago... 'twas still us then... us?! hehe...'
guy: 'you still loved me then...'
me: 'i still love you now... but we've, what do i say, progressed? retrogessed? to the friendship zone... they say that's the hard part... when you're in the friend zone... you get stuck... you can't go beyond...'
could be good or bad... ; )
'the secret'
on the phone...
guy: 'i'm going to ask you something... i know you're going to say 'no'... it's a long shot but i'm taking a chance...'
me: 'you already say i'm going to say 'no' so i'm saying 'no' now without hearing the question...'
you expect rejection, you get rejection... it's as simple as that... next time show some confidence... \m/

too late
me: 'wow, you're taller than me!'
nephew: 'sleeping early is the key...'
me: 'well, i'm past the growth years so no matter how much sleep i get now, it won't really make me taller anymore...'
there is such a thing as a window... once that closes, you just have to find something else... and sometimes, that will never lead to the same thing...

yet we understood
i was telling my friend's housemate to go easy on his leaves as those are monetized upon retirement...
friend's housemate: 'we don't retire...'
me: 'what? you go on working forever? joke!!!'
friend's housemate: 'we're not permanent...'
me: 'casual?'
friend's housemate: 'no... the one where you have to re-apply when the term ends...'
me: 'oh, contractual?'
friend's housemate: 'no... what do you call it? it's a spanish term...'
me: 'spanish? co-terminus?'
friend's housemate: 'yes... yes... co-terminus...'
nyahaha... spanish, my foot! ; )

follow your instinct
i was supposed to enter our street on reverse but my sister told me to wait for the car perpendicular to us, backing up to the parking slot right AFTER our street, to get settled before i make my turn. for some reason, i had this feeling that i should move immediately but brushed it aside because i have this self-imposed policy to just keep quiet and not react to / contradict whatever this younger sister of mine says so as not to, uhm, sweat stuff, hehe... ; )
now even after parking, the driver took a while to turn off the car's headlights and all the while i was just there waiting on hazard. when the lights finally went off, that's when my sister gave the go signal for me to move.
i moved forward and made a turn to enter our street on reverse. suddenly i heard a slight thud. ugh! a tricyle hit me! the tricycle stopped and was looking at me but i know it was ultra-super minor and i'm sure it wasn't my fault so i didn't bother to get off my car. the tricycle driver and i didn't anymore sweat stuff as well... : }
talk about timing... talk about gut feel... had i followed my instinct... had i not waited too long... had i left that spot when i felt like moving, we wouldn't have had that collision.
