today is my dad's first death anniversary. in the philippines, we call it "babang luksa."
baba is to take down.
luksa is mourning.
babang luksa is supposed to be the end of the mourning period.
you have one year to grieve.
you're not supposed to be in sorrow forever.
the ones who die are not meant to perish. they move on to eternal life.
that is cause for rejoicing.
